Avon, MA 1st Quarter 2016 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 1st quarter of 2016, real estate activity in Avon saw an increase in total sales volume but a decrease in average sales price.

 

There was a 15% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Avon during the 1st quarter 2016. 242 land documents were recorded versus 210 during the first quarter 2015.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Avon during the 1st quarter 2016 was $8,582,915, a 39% increase from the same time period in 2015. This increase was driven by a rise in the number of Avon real estate transactions recorded during the quarter. However, the average sale price of homes and commercial property fell 7% in Avon. The average sale price was $476,828. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (38) on Avon properties during the 1st quarter 2016 was down 14% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness also decreased by 22% to $10,142,251 during the same period.

 

There were 3 foreclosure deeds filed against Avon properties during 1st quarter 2016 compared to 0 foreclosure deed filings during the 1st quarter 2015. 

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 12% in Avon during the 1st quarter 2016 with 19 homesteads filed compared to 17 during the same time period in 2015.
