Avon, MA 1st Quarter 2019 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 1st quarter of 2019, real estate activity in Avon saw significant increases in total sales volume and average sales price. 

 

There was a 7% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Avon during the 1st quarter 2019. 220 land documents were recorded versus 205 during the 1st quarter 2018.   

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Avon during the 1st quarter 2019 was $23,779,411, a 271% increase from the same time period in 2018. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property actually increased 293% in Avon. The average sale price was $1,398,788. These figures were impacted by a $9.2 million commercial sale that took place during the quarter.  

 

The number of mortgages recorded (35) on Avon properties during the 1st quarter 2019 was up 6% from the previous year. Also, total mortgage indebtedness was $25,595,689, up 212% from the 1st quarter 2018. This figure was impacted by a $7.3 million commercial mortgage taken out during the 1st quarter.  

 

There was 1 foreclosure deed filed against an Avon property during the 1st quarter 2019, the same number filed during the 1st quarter 2018. 

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 22% in Avon during the 1st quarter 2019 with 14 homesteads filed compared to 18 during the same time period in 2018.
