Bellingham, MA 1st Quarter 2015 Real Estate Activity Report

Real Estate activity in Bellingham, MA during the 1st quarter of 2015 saw increases in both total real estate sales volume and borrowing.


There was a 20% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Bellingham during the 1st quarter of 2015. 762 land documents were recorded versus 636 during the 1st quarter of 2014.


The total dollar volume of real estate sales in Bellingham during the 1st quarter of 2015 was $13,602,373, a 19% increase over 2014 1st quarter numbers. The average sales price of deeds over $1000, both residential and commercial properties, was $309,144, a 3% increase from the same time period in 2014.


The number of mortgages recorded on Bellingham properties during the 1st quarter of 2015 was 168, a 50% increase from the 1st quarter 2014 number. Total mortgage indebtedness was $56,604,978 for the quarter compared to $40,668,299 for the 1st quarter 2014.


5 foreclosure deeds were filed against Bellingham properties during the 1st quarter 2015. This represented a 400% increase from the same time period in 2014.


Finally, homestead activity decreased in Bellingham during the 1st quarter 2015 with 42 homesteads recorded representing a 13% decrease from the 1st quarter 2014 number of 48.
