Brookline, MA 2nd Quarter 2019 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 2nd quarter of 2019, real estate activity in Brookline saw increases in total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 5% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Brookline during the 2nd quarter 2019. 2,426 land documents were recorded versus 2,305 during the second quarter 2018.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Brookline during the 2nd quarter 2019 was $440,034,479, a 34% increase from the same time period in 2018. Also, the average sales price of homes and commercial property increased 23% in Brookline. The average sale price was $1,767,206. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (447) on Brookline properties during the 2nd quarter 2019 was up 3% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness decreased 23% to $430,611,039 during the same period.

 

There were 0 foreclosure deeds filed against Brookline properties during the 2nd quarter 2019, the same number recorded during the 2nd quarter 2018. 

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 16% in Brookline during the 2nd quarter 2019 with 230 homesteads filed compared to 198 during the same time period in 2018.
