Brookline, MA 3rd Quarter 2021 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 3rd quarter of 2021, real estate activity in Brookline saw increases in total sales volume but no change in average sales price. 

 

There was a 5% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Brookline during the 3rd quarter 2021. 3,114 land documents were recorded versus 2,963 during the 3rd quarter 2020.   

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Brookline during the 3rd quarter 2021 was $434,828,085, an 24% increase from the same time period in 2020. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property remained steady in Brookline. The average sale price was $1,575,464.  

 

The number of mortgages recorded (665) on Brookline properties during the 3rd quarter 2021 was down 6% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness was $574,424,993, up 17% from the 3rd quarter 2020.   

 

There were 0 foreclosure deeds filed against Brookline properties during the 3rd quarter 2021 compared to 0 foreclosure deed filed during the 3rd quarter 2020. 

 

Finally, homestead activity in Brookline increased 4% during the 3rd quarter 2021 with 233 homesteads filed, compared to 223 filed during the same time period in 2020.
