Dover, MA 1st Quarter 2015 Real Estate Activity Report

Real estate activity in Dover, MA during the 1st quarter of 2015 saw a decrease in total real estate sales volume but an increase in borrowing.


There was a 24% decrease in total land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Dover during the 1st quarter of 2015. 259 land documents were recorded versus 340 during the 1st quarter of 2014.


The total dollar volume of real estate sales in Dover during the 1st quarter of 2015 was $19,843,407, a 17% decrease over 2014 1st quarter numbers. The average sales price of deeds over $1000, both residential and commercial properties, was $1,984,340, an 84% increase over 1st quarter 2014.


The number of mortgages recorded on Dover properties during the 1st quarter of 2015 was 70, a 19% increase from the same time period in 2014. Total mortgage indebtedness was $43,682,255 for the quarter compared to $36,003,261 for the 1st quarter 2014.


There were no foreclosure deeds recorded against Dover properties during the 1st quarter of 2015.


Finally, Homestead activity decreased in Dover during the 1st quarter of 2015. 15 Homesteads were recorded in the quarter representing an 29% reduction from the 1st quarter 2014 number of 21.
