Dover, MA 1st Quarter 2018 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 1st quarter of 2018, real estate activity in Dover saw a decrease in total sales volume but an increase in average sales price.

 

There was a 36% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Dover during the 1st quarter 2018. 242 land documents were recorded versus 378 during the first quarter 2017.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Dover during the 1st quarter 2018 was $22,249,799, a 40% decrease from the same time period in 2017. However, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 20% in Dover. The average sale price was $1,390,612. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (46) on Dover properties during the 1st quarter 2018 was down 47% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness also decreased 21% to $34,314,999 during the same period.

 

There were 0 foreclosure deeds filed against Dover properties during the 1st quarter 2018 compared to 1 filed during the 1st quarter 2017. 

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 36% in Dover during the 1st quarter 2018 with 23 homesteads filed compared to 36 during the same time period in 2017.
