Dover, MA 2017 Real Estate Activity Report

During 2017, real estate activity in Dover saw increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 5% decrease in the number of documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Dover in 2017. 1,695 land documents were recorded versus 1,779 during 2016. 

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Dover during 2017 was $184,549,327, a 14% increase from 2016. The average sale price of homes and commercial property was up 5% in Dover. The average sale was $1,175,473.

 

The number of mortgages recorded (348) on Dover properties in 2017 was down 8% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness also decreased by 9% to $204,518,806 during the same period.

 

There were 2 foreclosure deeds filed against Dover properties during 2017, the same number filed during 2016. 

 

Finally, homestead activity increased  9% in Dover during 2017 with 167 homesteads filed compared to 153 in 2016.
