Dover, MA 2018 Real Estate Activity Report

During 2018, real estate activity in Dover saw an increase in total sales volume but a decrease in average sales price.

 

There was a 21% decrease in the number of documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Dover in 2018. 1,336 land documents were recorded versus 1,695 during 2017. 

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Dover during 2018 was $147,704,292, a 20% decrease from 2017. However, the average sale price of homes and commercial property was up 11% in Dover. The average sale was $1,307,117.

 

The number of mortgages recorded (254) on Dover properties in 2018 was down 27% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness also decreased by 19% to $166,646,969 during the same period.

 

There was 1 foreclosure deed filed against a Dover property during 2018, compared to 2 foreclosure deeds recorded during 2017.  

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 18% in Dover during 2018 with 137 homesteads filed compared to 167 in 2017.
