Real Estate activity in Franklin during the 3rd quarter of 2015 saw decreases in both total real estate sales volume and borrowing.


 


There was a 9% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Franklin during the 3rd quarter of 2015. 1,896 land documents were recorded versus 1,732 during the 3rd quarter of 2014.


 


The total dollar volume of real estate sales in Franklin during the 3rd quarter of 2015 was $76,047,663, a 22% decrease over 2014 3rd quarter numbers. The average sales price of deeds over $1000, both residential and commercial properties, was $429,647, also a 22% decrease from the same time period in 2014.


 


The number of mortgages recorded against Franklin properties during the 3rd quarter of 2015 was 397, a 1% increase from the 3rd quarter 2014 number. Total mortgage indebtedness was $102,068,322 for the quarter compared to $108,245,853 for the 3rd quarter 2014.


 


There were 2 foreclosure deeds filed against Franklin properties during the 3rd quarter 2015. This represented a decrease of 33% over the same time period in 2014.


 


Finally, homestead activity decreased in Franklin during the 3rd quarter 2015 with 187 Homesteads recorded representing a 2% decrease from the 3rd quarter 2014 total of 191.
