Norfolk, MA 2017 Real Estate Activity Report

During 2017, real estate activity in Norfolk saw increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 13% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Norfolk in 2017. 2,296 land documents were recorded versus 2,651 in 2016. 

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Norfolk during 2017 was $118,437,642, a 10% increase from 2016. The average sales price of homes and commercial property was up 13% in Norfolk. The average sale price was $569,411.

 

The number of mortgages recorded (479) on Norfolk properties in 2017 was down 24% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness decreased by 80% to $155,466,939 during the same period.

 

There were 4 foreclosure deeds filed against Norfolk properties during 2017 compared to 3 foreclosure deed filings in 2016.   

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 7% in Norfolk during 2017 with 249 homesteads filed compared to 268 in 2016.
