Norfolk, MA 2nd Quarter 2017 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 2nd quarter of 2017, real estate activity in Norfolk saw increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 7% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Norfolk during the 2nd quarter 2017. 618 land documents were recorded versus 663 during the second quarter 2016.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Norfolk during the 2nd quarter 2017 was $44,186,421, a 41% increase from the same time period in 2016. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 19% in Norfolk. The average sale price was $622,343. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (136) on Norfolk properties during the 2nd quarter 2017 was down 16% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness also decreased by 11% to $45,943,896 during the same period.

 

There was 1 foreclosure deed filed against a Norfolk property during the 2nd quarter 2017 compared to 0 filings during the 2nd quarter 2016. 

 

Finally, homestead activity was flat during the 2nd quarter 2017. 76 homesteads were filed, the same number recorded during the same time period in 2016.
