Norfolk, MA 3rd Quarter 2019 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 3rd quarter of 2019, real estate activity in the town of Norfolk saw a decrease in total sales volume but an increase in average sales price.

 

There was a 1% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Norfolk during the 3rd quarter 2019. 604 land documents were recorded versus 738 during the third quarter 2018.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Norfolk during the 3rd quarter 2019 was $31,201,425, a 31% decrease from the same time period in 2018. However, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 14% in Norfolk. The average sale price was $611,792.  

 

The number of mortgages recorded (162) on Norfolk properties during the 3rd quarter 2019 was up 13% from the previous year. Also, total mortgage indebtedness increased 31% to $56,866,477 during the same period.

 

There were 0 foreclosure deeds filed against town of Norfolk properties during the 3rd quarter 2019, the same number recorded during the 3rd quarter 2018. 

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 26% in Norfolk during the 3rd quarter 2019 with 59 homesteads filed compared to 80 during the same time period in 2018.
