Norfolk, MA 3rd Quarter 2021 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 3rd quarter of 2021, real estate activity in Norfolk saw increases in total sales volume and average sales price. 

 

There was a 14% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Norfolk during the 3rd quarter 2021. 879 land documents were recorded versus 1,019 during the 3rd quarter 2020.   

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Norfolk during the 3rd quarter 2021 was $57,304,811, a 23% increase from the same time period in 2020. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 32% in Norfolk. The average sale price was $707,466.  

 

The number of mortgages recorded (209) on Norfolk properties during the 3rd quarter 2021 was down 26% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness was $89,222,486, up 3% from the 3rd quarter 2020.   

 

There were 1 foreclosure deeds filed against Norfolk properties during the 3rd quarter 2021 compared to 0 foreclosure deed filed during the 3rd quarter 2020. 

 

Finally, homestead activity in Norfolk decreased 14% during the 3rd quarter 2021 with 85 homesteads filed, compared to 99 filed during the same time period in 2020.
