Quincy, MA 1st Quarter 2015 Real Estate Activity Report

Real estate activity in Quincy, MA during the 1st quarter of 2015 saw increases in both total real estate sales volume and borrowing.


There was a 12% increase in total land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the city of Quincy during the 1st quarter of 2015. 3,095 land documents were recorded versus 2,765 during the 1st quarter of 2014.


The total dollar volume of real estate sales in Quincy during the 1st quarter of 2015 was $95,159,814, a 24% increase over 2014 1st quarter numbers. The average sales price of deeds over $1000, both residential and commercial properties, was $475,799, a 25% increase over 1st quarter 2014.


The number of mortgages recorded on Quincy properties during the 1st quarter of 2015 was 676, a 32% increase from the same time period in 2014. Total mortgage indebtedness was $247,913,691 for the quarter compared to $162,449,539 for the 1st quarter 2014.


There were 7 foreclosure deeds recorded against Quincy properties during the 1st quarter of 2015,. the same number recorded during the 2014 1st quarter.


Finally, Homestead activity decreased in Quincy during the 1st quarter of 2015. 204 Homesteads were recorded in the quarter representing an 1% reduction from the 1st quarter 2014 number of 206.
