Quincy, MA 1st Quarter 2017 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 1st quarter of 2017, real estate activity in Quincy saw decreases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 7% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the city of Quincy during the 1st quarter 2017. 3,510 land documents were recorded versus 3,279 during the first quarter 2016.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Quincy during the 1st quarter 2017 was $139,776,566, a 20% decrease from the same time period in 2016. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property decreased 31% in Quincy. The average sale price was $493,910. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (639) on Quincy properties during the 1st quarter 2017, no statistical change from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness increased by 125% to $800,851,659 during the same period.

 

There were 5 foreclosure deeds filed against Quincy properties during 1st quarter 2017 compared to 6 foreclosure deed filings during the 1st quarter 2016. 

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 24% in Quincy during the 1st quarter 2017 with 275 homesteads filed compared to 222 during the same time period in 2016.
