Quincy, MA 2015 Real Estate Activity Report

During 2015, real estate activity in Quincy saw an increase in total volume but a small decrease in average sales price.

 

There was a 14% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the city of Quincy in 2015. 15,930 land documents were recorded versus 14,014 in 2014. 

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Quincy during 2015 was $743,709,622, a 5% increase from 2014. However, the average sales price of homes and commercial property was down 3% in Quincy. The average sale price was $533,507. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (3,188) on Quincy properties in 2015 was up 21% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness increased by 243% to $3,859,656,625 during the same period.

 

There were 24 foreclosure deeds filed against Quincy properties during 2015, representing a 27% decrease from the previous year when there were 33 foreclosure deeds recorded.

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 13% in Quincy during 2015 with 1,296 homesteads filed compared to 1,149 in 2014.
