Quincy, MA 2016 Real Estate Activity Report

During 2016, real estate activity in Quincy saw increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 2% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the city of Quincy in 2016. 16,198 land documents were recorded versus 15,931 in 2015. 

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Quincy during 2016 was $1,213,766,434, a 63% increase from 2015. The average sales price of homes and commercial property was up 60% in Quincy. The average sale price was $855,367. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (3,467) on Quincy properties in 2016 was up 9% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness decreased by 56% to $1,702,854,693 during the same period.

 

There were 29 foreclosure deeds filed against Quincy properties during 2016, representing a 21% increase from the previous year when there were 24 foreclosure deeds recorded.

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 6% in Quincy during 2016 with 1,218 homesteads filed compared to 1,296 in 2015.
