Quincy, MA 2017 Real Estate Activity Report

During 2017, real estate activity in Quincy saw decreases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 5% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the city of Quincy in 2017. 15,418 land documents were recorded versus 16,196 in 2016. 

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Quincy during 2017 was $833,575,038, a 331% decrease from 2016. The average sales price of homes and commercial property was down 35% in Quincy. The average sale price was $559,071. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (2,975) on Quincy properties in 2017 was down 14% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness increased by 103% to $3,496,926,158 during the same period.

 

There were 22 foreclosure deeds filed against Quincy properties during 2017, representing a 24% decrease from the previous year when there were 29 foreclosure deeds recorded.

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 12% in Quincy during 2017 with 1,368 homesteads filed compared to 1,219 in 2016.
