Quincy, MA 2018 Real Estate Activity Report

During 2018, real estate activity in Quincy saw increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was an 11% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the city of Quincy in 2018. 13,756 land documents were recorded versus 15,418 in 2017. 

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Quincy during 2018 was $1,019,806,690, a 22% increase from 2017. The average sales price of homes and commercial property was up 30% in Quincy. The average sale price was $724,809. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (2,607) on Quincy properties in 2018 was down 12% from the previous year. Also, total mortgage indebtedness decreased by 5% to $3,306,738,484 during the same period.

 

There were 22 foreclosure deeds filed against Quincy properties during 2018, the same number recorded in 2017.

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 12% in Quincy during 2018 with 1,202 homesteads filed compared to 1,368 in 2017.
