Quincy, MA 2019 Real Estate Activity Report

During 2019, real estate activity in Quincy saw decreases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 5% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the city of Quincy during 2019. 14,482 land documents were recorded versus 13,757 during 2018.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Quincy during 2019 was $771,019,361, a 24% decrease from 2018. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property decreased 20% in Quincy. The average sale price was $576,678.   

 

The number of mortgages recorded (3,023) on Quincy properties during 2019 was up 16% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness decreased 40% to $1,998,098,092.    

 

There were 14 foreclosure deeds filed against Quincy properties during 2019, compared to 22 foreclosure deeds filed during 2018.  

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 7% in Quincy during 2019 with 1,289 homesteads filed compared to 1,202 during 2018.
