Quincy, MA 2nd Quarter 2017 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 2nd quarter of 2017, real estate activity in Quincy saw significant increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 4% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the city of Quincy during the 2nd quarter 2017. 3,786 land documents were recorded versus 3,948 during the second quarter 2016.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Quincy during the 2nd quarter 2017 was $259,262,342, a 67% increase from the same time period in 2016. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 46% in Quincy. The average sale price was $641,738. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (739) on Quincy properties during the 2nd quarter 2017 was down 15% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness increased 17% to $296,609,555 during the same period.

 

There were 5 foreclosure deeds filed against Quincy properties during the 2nd quarter 2017 compared to 4 foreclosure deed filings during the 2nd quarter 2016. 

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 14% in Quincy during the 2nd quarter 2017 with 359 homesteads filed compared to 314 during the same time period in 2016.
