Quincy, MA 2nd Quarter 2018 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 2nd quarter of 2018, real estate activity in Quincy saw increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 13% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the city of Quincy during the 2nd quarter 2018. 3,292 land documents were recorded versus 3,786 during the second quarter 2017.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Quincy during the 2nd quarter 2018 was $305,640,437, an 18% increase from the same time period in 2017. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 41% in Quincy. The average sale price was $904,261. These figures were impacted by a $64.2 million real estate sale that was recorded on 6/13/18.   

 

The number of mortgages recorded (667) on Quincy properties during the 2nd quarter 2018 was down 10% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness increased 46% to $434,043,660.   

 

There were 6 foreclosure deeds filed against Quincy properties during the 2nd quarter 2018 compared to 5 foreclosure deeds filed during the 2nd quarter 2017.  

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 21% in Quincy during the 2nd quarter 2018 with 284 homesteads filed compared to 359 during the same time period in 2017.
