Quincy, MA 2nd Quarter 2019 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 2nd quarter of 2019, real estate activity in Quincy saw decreases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a 3% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the city of Quincy during the 2nd quarter 2019. 3,380 land documents were recorded versus 3,289 during the second quarter 2018.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Quincy during the 2nd quarter 2019 was $188,669,353, a 38% decrease from the same time period in 2018. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property decreased 40% in Quincy. The average sale price was $545,287.   

 

The number of mortgages recorded (712) on Quincy properties during the 2nd quarter 2019 was up 7% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness decreased 18% to $356,241,491.     

 

There were 4 foreclosure deeds filed against Quincy properties during the 2nd quarter 2019, compared to 6 foreclosure deeds filed during the 2nd quarter 2018.  

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 19% in Quincy during the 2nd quarter 2019 with 337 homesteads filed compared to 284 during the same time period in 2018.
