Stoughton, MA 3rd Quarter 2019 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 3rd quarter of 2019, real estate activity in Stoughton saw increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was an 2% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Stoughton during the 3rd quarter 2019. 1,591 land documents were recorded versus 1,565 during the third quarter 2018.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Stoughton during the 3rd quarter 2019 was $72,913,551, a 12% increase from the same time period in 2018. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 19% in Stoughton. The average sale price was $513,475.     

 

The number of mortgages recorded (382) on Stoughton properties during the 3rd quarter 2019 was up 17% from the previous year. Also, total mortgage indebtedness increased 13% to $141,886,797.  

 

There were 2 foreclosure deeds filed against Stoughton properties during the 3rd quarter 2019 compared to 9 foreclosure deeds filed during the 3rd quarter 2018.  

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 6% during 3rd quarter 2019 with 146 homesteads filed, compared to 156 during the 3rd quarter 2018.
