Weymouth, MA 1st Quarter 2015 Real Estate Activity Report

Real estate activity in Weymouth, MA during the 1st quarter of 2015 saw increases in both total real estate sales volume and borrowing.


There was a 12% increase in total land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Weymouth during the 1st quarter of 2015. 2,215 land documents were recorded versus 1,970 during the 1st quarter of 2014.


The total dollar volume of real estate sales in Weymouth during the 1st quarter of 2015 was $53,709,700, a 31% increase over 2014 1st quarter numbers. The average sales price of deeds over $1000, both residential and commercial properties, was $375,592, a 13% increase over 1st quarter 2014.


The number of mortgages recorded on Weymouth properties during the 1st quarter of 2015 was 451, a 35% increase from the same time period in 2014. Total mortgage indebtedness was $148,930,134 for the quarter compared to $105,638,496 for the 1st quarter 2014.


There were 16 foreclosure deeds recorded against Weymouth properties during the 1st quarter of 2015 compared to 8 recordings during the same time period in 2014.


Finally, Homestead activity decreased in Weymouth during the 1st quarter of 2015. 147 Homesteads were recorded in the quarter representing an 3% reduction from the 1st quarter 2014 number of 152.
