Weymouth, MA 2nd Quarter 2017 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 2nd quarter of 2017, real estate activity in Weymouth saw increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was a slight 1% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Weymouth during the 2nd quarter 2017. 2,837 land documents were recorded versus 2,854 during the second quarter 2016.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Weymouth during the 2nd quarter 2017 was $127,672,269, a 49% increase from the same time period in 2016. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 34% in Weymouth. The average sale price was $447,972. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (556) on Weymouth properties during the 2nd quarter 2017 was down 10% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness also decreased 79% to $169,162,100 during the same period.

 

There were 8 foreclosure deeds filed against Weymouth properties during the 2nd quarter 2017 compared to 5 foreclosure deed filings during the 2nd quarter 2016. 

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 7% in Weymouth during the 2nd quarter 2017 with 296 homesteads filed compared to 277 during the same time period in 2016.
