Weymouth, MA 2nd Quarter 2021 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 2nd quarter of 2021, real estate activity in Weymouth saw increases in total sales volume and a decrease in average sales price. 

 

There was a 27% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Weymouth during the 2nd quarter 2021. 3,862 land documents were recorded versus 3,052 during the 2nd quarter 2020.   

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Weymouth during the 2nd quarter 2021 was $129,696,447, a 4% increase from the same time period in 2020. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property decreased 14% in Weymouth. The average sale price was $514,668.  

 

The number of mortgages recorded (970) on Weymouth properties during the 2nd quarter 2021 was up 11% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness was $701,920,442, up 56% from the 2nd quarter 2020.   

 

There were 3 foreclosure deeds filed against Weymouth properties during the 2nd quarter 2021 compared to 1 foreclosure deed filed during the 2nd quarter 2020. 

 

Finally, homestead activity in Weymouth increased 18% during the 2nd quarter 2021 with 277 homesteads filed, compared to 235 filed during the same time period in 2020.
