Weymouth, MA 3rd Quarter 2021 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 3rd quarter of 2021, real estate activity in Weymouth saw increases in total sales volume and a decrease in average sales price. 

 

There was a 7% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Weymouth during the 3rd quarter 2021. 3,606 land documents were recorded versus 3,883 during the 3rd quarter 2020.   

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Weymouth during the 3rd quarter 2021 was $252,701,578, a 64% increase from the same time period in 2020. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 74% in Weymouth. The average sale price was $836,760.  

 

The number of mortgages recorded (874) on Weymouth properties during the 3rd quarter 2021 was down 18% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness was $1,323,656,794, up 364% from the 3rd quarter 2020.   

 

There were 1 foreclosure deeds filed against Weymouth properties during the 3rd quarter 2021 compared to 0 foreclosure deed filed during the 3rd quarter 2020. 

 

Finally, homestead activity in Weymouth decreased 7% during the 3rd quarter 2021 with 327 homesteads filed, compared to 351 filed during the same time period in 2020.
