During 2018, real estate activity in Franklin saw increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.
There was a 5% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Franklin in 2018. 6,317 land documents were recorded versus 6,651 during 2017.
The total volume of real estate sales in Franklin during 2018 was $410,020,451, a 21% increase from 2017. Also, the average sales price of homes and commercial property was up 16% in Franklin. The average sale price was $665,617.
The number of mortgages recorded (1,208) on Franklin properties in 2018 was down 13% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness was also down 62% to $560,796,483 during the same period.
There were 12 foreclosure deeds filed against Franklin properties during 2018, representing a 25% decrease from the previous year when there were 16 foreclosure deeds filed.
Finally, homestead activity increased 3% in Franklin during 2018 with 649 homesteads filed compared to 629 in 2017.
