Cohasset, MA 1st Quarter 2019 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 1st quarter of 2019, real estate activity in Cohasset saw a decrease in total sales volume but an increase in average sales price.

 

There was a 24% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Cohasset during the 1st quarter 2019. 358 land documents were recorded versus 468 during the first quarter 2018.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Cohasset during the 1st quarter 2019 was $24,461,809, a 20% decrease from the same time period in 2018. However, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 19% in Cohasset. The average sale price was $1,063,556. 

 

The number of mortgages recorded (81) on Cohasset properties during the 1st quarter 2019 was down 20% from the previous year. Also, total mortgage indebtedness decreased 23% to $41,587,180 during the same period.

 

There was 1 foreclosure deed filed against a Cohasset property during the 1st quarter 2019, compared to 0 foreclosure deeds filed during the 1st quarter 2018. 

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 18% in Cohasset during the 1st quarter 2019 with 32 homesteads filed compared to 39 during the same time period in 2018.
