Public Records Request

Welcome to the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds Public Records Request webpage created in response to the Commonwealth’s passage of An Act to Improve Public Records. While this page represents a new addition to our site it is part of an ongoing effort at the Registry of Deeds to improve and enhance the accessibility of our records. All of our land records dating back to 1793 and through and including documents received and recorded by the Registry on the previous day are online and available for viewing. These records may be viewed by accessing the Norfolk Research website. Please also consult this link for a complete list of the land records available for viewing. For assistance in viewing these documents or in obtaining copies of these documents please contact our Customer Service Center Monday through Friday, 8:30AM – 4:30PM. They can be reached by telephone at 781-461-6101.

For Public Records Requests under the newly amended Public Records Law please use the form below and submit online to the Norfolk Registry of Deeds Records Access Officer. This form may also be printed and mailed to the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds Records Access Officer, 649 High Street, Dedham, MA 02026. This form should only be used for Public Records Requests. All other inquiries, as in the past, should be directed to our Customer Service Center.

We look forward to the opportunity of serving the public under the new Public Records Law and continuing our commitment to accessible and secure public records.

Sincerely,
William P. O’Donnell

PRR Tips

Please consider how you can narrow the scope of your request in order to expedite the production process. A reasonable fee may be charged for the public records request.

Public agencies are obligated to secure personally identifiable information and prevent unwarranted invasions of privacy. Documents containing such information must be redacted carefully before releasing, expanding time needed for production. Consider how you might revise your PRR to exclude records containing such information.
