Millis, MA 1st Quarter 2017 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 1st quarter of 2017, real estate activity in Millis saw an increase in total sales volume but a decrease in average sales price.

 

There was an 11% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Millis during the 1st quarter 2017. 472 land documents were recorded versus 426 during the first quarter 2016.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Millis during the 1st quarter 2017 was $14,712,069, a 13% increase from the same time period in 2016. However, the average sale price of homes and commercial property decreased 10% in Millis. The average sale price was $377,232.  

 

The number of mortgages recorded (83) on Millis properties during the 1st quarter 2017 was down 3% from the previous year. However, total mortgage indebtedness increased by 4% to $22,989,212 during the same period.

 

There were 2 foreclosure deeds filed against Millis properties during 1st quarter 2017, the same number of filings during the 1st quarter 2016. 

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 6% in Millis during the 1st quarter 2017 with 35 homesteads filed compared to 33 during the same time period in 2016.
