Walpole, MA 3rd Quarter 2017 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 3rd quarter of 2017, real estate activity in Walpole saw increases in both total sales volume and average sales price.

 

There was an 11% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Walpole during the 3rd quarter 2017. 1,462 land documents were recorded versus 1,643 during the third quarter 2016.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Walpole during the 3rd quarter 2017 was $82,459,981, a 13% increase from the same time period in 2016. Also, the average sale price of homes and commercial property increased 7% in Walpole. The average sale price was $584,822.    

 

The number of mortgages recorded (277) on Walpole properties during the 3rd quarter 2017 was down 33% from the previous year. Total mortgage indebtedness also decreased 56% to $119,255,298 during the same period.  

 

There were 2 foreclosure deeds filed against Walpole properties during the 3rd quarter 2017 compared to 0 foreclosure deed filings during the 3rd quarter 2016. 

 

Finally, homestead activity decreased 13% in Walpole during the 3rd quarter 2017 with 135 homesteads filed compared to 156 during the same time period in 2016.
