Weymouth, MA 2nd Quarter 2018 Real Estate Activity Report

During the 2nd quarter of 2018, real estate activity in Weymouth saw an increase in both total sales volume but a decrease in average sales price.

 

There was a 6% increase in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Weymouth during the 2nd quarter 2018. 3,012 land documents were recorded versus 2,838 during the second quarter 2017.  

 

The total volume of real estate sales in Weymouth during the 2nd quarter 2018 was $140,959,252, a 10% increase from the same time period in 2017. However, the average sale price of homes and commercial property decreased 11% in Weymouth. The average sales price was $400,452.   

 

The number of mortgages recorded (605) on Weymouth properties during the 2nd quarter 2018 was up 9% from the previous year. Also, total mortgage indebtedness increased 6% to $178,746,499.   

 

There were 8 foreclosure deeds filed against Weymouth properties during the 2nd quarter 2018, the same number filed during the 2nd quarter 2017.  

 

Finally, homestead activity increased 14% in Weymouth during the 2nd quarter 2018 with 336 homesteads filed compared to 296 during the same time period in 2017.
