Notable Land Records Vol 5 “We Remember America’s 250th Anniversary”

Notable Land Records, Volume 5, titled “We Remember America’s 250th Anniversary,” was written to honor the individuals, from citizen-soldiers to civic leaders, whose actions helped secure independence and establish the freedoms Americans enjoy today

Some of the individuals featured are patriots, soldiers, statesmen, clergymen, physicians, civic leaders, and ordinary citizens whose actions helped shape the founding of the United States and preserve the freedoms we enjoy today. The booklet includes well-known figures such as John Adams, Abigail Adams, John Hancock, Paul Revere, and Deborah Sampson, as well as many local men and women whose contributions are less widely known but equally important to our nation’s story. One such individual was Fisher Ames of Dedham, a member of the First United States Congress and a leading Federalist whose home once stood on the site of the present-day Norfolk County Registry of Deeds. Another was Reverend Noah Alden of Bellingham, a patriot, preacher, and delegate to the Massachusetts convention that ratified the United States Constitution.
 
Together, these stories remind us that the American Revolution was not only shaped by famous national leaders, but also by the citizens of Norfolk County whose courage, service, and dedication helped establish the foundations of our country.
 
The booklet was introduced to the public during an open house held at the Registry of Deeds on June 17th, 2026.
