Proposal to Eliminate Registry IT Technology Department- A Disaster
During the 2nd quarter of 2018, real estate activity in Franklin saw decreases in both total sales volume and average sales price.
There was a 3% decrease in the number of land documents recorded at the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds from the town of Franklin during the 2nd quarter 2018. 1,673 land documents were recorded versus 1,718 during the second quarter 2017.
The total volume of real estate sales in Franklin during the 2nd quarter 2018 was $85,750,242, a 45% decrease from the same time period in 2017. The average sale price of homes and commercial property also decreased 53% in Franklin. The average sale price was $463,514. These numbers were impacted by 2 separate commercial property transactions that were recorded during the second quarter 2017.
The number of mortgages recorded (350) on Franklin properties during the 2nd quarter 2018 was down 7% from the previous year. Also, total mortgage indebtedness decreased 53% to $115,140,248 during the same period.
There were 3 foreclosure deeds filed against Franklin properties during the 2nd quarter 2018 compared to 4 foreclosure deeds filed during the 2nd quarter 2017.
Finally, homestead activity increased 6% in Franklin during the 2nd quarter 2018 with 181 homesteads filed compared to 170 during the same time period in 2017.
